The Supporting Women’s Scholarship of 2013 was awarded to 126 successful applicants out of over 420 applicants. Out of the selected 27 women were looking to change careers, 25 women were returning to study and 89 were school leavers.
The award is designed to aid women in undertaking study in a number employment fields that are severely dominated by men. In these areas there is a skills gap that can be filled by women and so ‘Skills Queensland’ has chosen to reward these women for their commendable efforts and contributions to specialised industries through study. Some of these industries include:
- Building Services
- Information Technology (IT)
- Geological Science
This scholarship will assist the recipients with vocational education and training in these industries in a multitude of qualification levels including: Certificate IV, Diploma, Advanced Diploma, Associate Degree, Bachelor Degree, Graduate Diploma, Masters and Graduate Certificate. The scholarships are funded and created by The Queensland Government Minister for Education, Training and Employment, the Honourable John-Paul Langbroek and Campbell Newman.
“Last Wednesday I was pleased to represent AUSTREX in attending a very special presentation Ceremony at Parliament House for Skills QLD.”
Earlier this Month Bridgette was awarded her Scholarship at Parliament House where we were proud to see her represent the AUSTREX team. We believe in constant evolution in the industry and this requires study and ongoing self-improvement of all of our workers. Bridgette has raised the standards of dedication to the industry here at Austrex and we’re happy to have her as one of our passionate and leading workers that are devoted to quality livestock transportation.
We’re proud and encouraged by Bridgette’s achievements here at AUSTREX
Bridgette has been with us for a long period of time now and has impressed us with her dedication to the agricultural industry as well her work ethic and proficiency here at AUSTREX, as such we are proud to encourage and assist Bridgette in her pursuits. We were very proud to hear about her award and are happy to encourage her with all aspects of her training and study.
